PEGGY ANN OWENS

West Frankfort-Peggy Ann Owens, 76 of West Frankfort passed away at 12:36 A.M. Monday March 4, 2013 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday March 6, 2013 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Steve House officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Peggy was born on October 17, 1936 in Pittsburg the daughter of Alta and Lula (McCombs) Burnett. She married Casto Owens on January 13, 1962 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1991.

Peggy was a homemaker and a factory worker. She was a member of the Forest Baptist Church of Benton.

She is survived by four children, Darlene Hall Austin and husband Larry of Lakeland, FL, Tony Owens and wife Rosemarie of Benton, Marsha Carroll of Benton, and Brian Owens and Tammy Jeralds of West Frankfort; eight grandchildren, Tammy Drawdy, Leeandra Sullivan, Rosemary McCamish, Charles Owens, Angie Lawson, Donna Carroll, Jeffery Carroll and Norman Carroll; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sue Swofford and husband Bill of Coello and Darla Burnett of Marion; and 1 brother, Merle Burnett of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 brothers, James and Otis Burnett and Donald Leo Ragsdale.
