ALLAN "BIG AL" RAY EVANS

Johnston City–Allan "Big Al" Evans 71 passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. at the St. Louis University Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday January 26, 2024 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Jack Harper officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Boner Cemetery in West Frankfort.

Memorials may be made to help with expenses.

Big Al was born on January 7, 1953 in Christopher the son of Arthur and Mary (Lawrence) Evans. He married Diantha "Kim" Evans and she survives.

Allen was retired and enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time in the garage with his son and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Rogers and husband Keith; a son, Alex Evans "who was his world"; mother-in-law, Patricia Summers; sister-in-law, Connie Evans; two grandchildren, Jillian Hermetz and husband Garrett, Kobie Tanner; two great grandchildren, Maren Hermetz and Theodore Tanner; two nieces, Rheanne Collier and Mary Jo Evans-Brown; two nephews, William Scoles and Greg Scoles; and other great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ardell "Tiny" Evans; a sister, Suella Scoles; brother-in-law Calvin Scoles; brother-in-law, Mitch Summers; sister-in-law, Vicki Summers; a father-in-law, Willis Summers.
