ALMA (SLOAN) FISHER

Marion-Alma (Sloan) Fisher 77 of Marion passed away on Sunday October 8, 2017 at 4:15 A.M. at her family home.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Alma was born on August 21, 1940 in Thompsonville the daughter of Leo and Lillie (Hill) Sloan. She married Art Fisher on January 18, 1958. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2011.

Alma was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanna Dodd of Marion, and Paula Reynolds of West Frankfort; one son, Art Fisher Jr. of Marion; five grandchildren, Lily Calvert, Gena Reynolds, Lee Fisher, Leeann Gantz, and Emily Stenger; seven great grandchildren, Zada Calvert, Alex Calvert, Chelbie Reynolds, Scotty Reynolds, Issacc Gantz, Maddy Gantz, and Olivia Gantz; one brother, Alan "Hoot" Sloan of Johnston City; two sisters, Karen West of Johnston City, and Evelyn Smith and husband Mike of Johnston City; and a sister-in-law, Claudine Sloan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bob Sloan, Bill "Nick" Sloan, and Leonard Sloan; and a sister, Doris Baker.
