Amy "Amos" Leigh Burgess, 42, of Johnston City, IL, passed away peacefully, of a heart attack, at her home on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

She was born on July 5, 1981 in Champaign, IL to Steven Eugene Burgess and Janis (Jansco) Burgess Earls.

She is survived by her immediate family, Kelly (John) Caudill of Carterville, Mallory (Chad) Banks of Carterville, Lillian Judd of Carbondale, Karson Caudill of Carterville and Shane (Alicia) Caudill of Troy, IL, Phillip and Johnnie Daugherty of Carterville, Audrey Caudill of Troy, IL, and far too many friends to name.

She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Paulie and Jeannie Jansco, and Gene and Leah Burgess, all of Johnston City, IL.

Amy was F-U-N and was always the life of the party. She was also the most generous and caring soul to all, friends and family both old and new. She was a full time caregiver, for the last several years for her grandmother and then for her father.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday April 2, 2024 at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
