ARLIE DEAN WILLIAMS
Johnston City–Arlie Dean Williams 93, of Johnston City passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 8:05 P.M. at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion.
Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Friday October 15, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Marrs officiating. Burial will be in the Boner Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Arlie was born on October 4, 1917 in Johnston City the daughter of Elbert and Lillie (Lawrence) Avery. She was married to Henry J. Williams in 1935 and he preceded her in death on August 7, 1979.
She worked for the Smolers Sewing Factory in Herrin in the 1950's. She was a homemaker and attended the Gospel Mission Church of Johnston City. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and caring for the grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ted Williams and wife Judy of Johnston City, and Dan Williams and wife Joan of West Frankfort; 1 daughter, Wanda Childers and husband Jack of Johnston City; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Jewell Smith of Marion, Evelyn Mahan of Johnston City, and Peg Brotherton of West Frankfort; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 1 brother, Lavern "Churn" Avery.
