ARTHUR WILLIAM EUBANKS
Marion–Arthur William Eubanks 89, of Marion passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 12:10 A.M. at the Frankfort Care Center in West Frankfort.
Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Monday November 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M with Minister Bill Brandstatter officiating. Burial will be in the East Fork Cemetery in West Frankfort with military rites conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion and Illinois Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday November 28, 2010 at the funeral home.
Arthur was born on June 9, 1921 in Logan the son of Robert and Vanetta (Brown) Eubanks. He was married to Berneice (Melvin) for 69 years. She survives.
He was a retired coal miner last working at Freeman #4 Coal Mine and was a member of the UMWA. He was a veteran of WWII proudly serving in the Army. He graduated from West Frankfort High School in 1940.
He is survived by his wife of Marion; a son, Larry Eubanks and wife Dorothey of Marion; a daughter, Debbie Eubanks of Homestead FL; 3 grandchildren, Tammie Speers and husband Wade of Tulsa, OK, Keith Arthur Eubanks and wife Julie of Naples, FL, and Trisha Eubanks of Marion; 3 great grandchildren, Jakob Eubanks, Delaney Eubanks, and Carter Westray.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 brother, Kenneth Eubanks.
