BARBARA SHARON ORR STANGER Johnston City-Barbara Sharon Orr Stanger 73 of Johnston City passed away on Saturday February 27, 2016 at 2:41 P.M. in the Herrin Hospital. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday March 2, 2016 in the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor John Howatt and Pastor Matt Troxel officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Poordo. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Barbara was born on December 8, 1942 in Poordo, the daughter of Elmer and Geneive (Manier) Orr. She married Edward John Stanger in West Frankfort. Barbara was a machine operator. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by four children, Christine Scott and husband Tommy, Rebecca Schnider and husband Michael, Edward Stanger Jr., and Janice Stanger; grandchildren, Kelsey, Dylan, Karrie, Daryl, Savanah, Jeffery, Jonathon, Summer, Melanie, Amanda, and Scottie; seven great grandchildren; sisters Marcella Clarida, Elsie Johnson, and Kathy Holloman; a brother, Larry Orr; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Melissa Mitchell; and two brothers, Elvis and James.
