BERTIS "BERT" CAIN ROSE
Johnston City-Bertis "Bert" Cain Rose, 83 of Johnston City passed away at 4:55 A.M. Saturday January 12, 2013 at the Herrin Hospital.
Bert was born on January 8, 1930 in St. Louis, MO, the son of James Richard and Clara F. (Cain) Rose. He married Phyllis Jean Schaubert on March 3, 1969 in St. Louis, MO and together they shared over 43 years of marriage.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was affectionately known by fellow masons as Father Bert.

Bert held honorary memberships in Masonic Lodges throughout Southern Illinois and was a member and twice past master of Johnston City Masonic Lodge 729 AF & AM. He also was a member of Scottish Rites Order, Ainad Shrine Temple, Williamson County Shrine Club, Motor Patrol, and a Roadrunner.

Bert's passion was to travel to all different lodges and help put on degree work. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and a good friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of Johnston City; two daughters, Karen Burton of Johnston City and loving companion Tom Via, Valerie Foutch and husband Randy of Marion; three sons, Calvin Rose and wife Cynthia of St. Louis, MO, Jerry Rose of St. Charles, MO, Rick Rose and wife JoAnn of Vinita Park, MO; six grandchildren; and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M. Friday January 18, 2013 in the Masonic Lodge in Johnston City with Masonic Rites at 7:00 P.M. and Pastor Denny Bush officiating.

Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers it was Bert's wishes to donate to Shriners Children Hospital.
