BETTY RUTH KING

Johnston City-Betty Ruth King 91 passed away at 5:35 A.M. on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Thurman and Pastor Keith Fletcher Officiating. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born March 29, 1929 in Williamson County the daughter of Lewis Thomas and Minerva Evelyn (Lappin) Blades. She married Wilbert King, who preceded her in death.

Betty was a homemaker and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was a faithful member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon King of Johnston City; a son Mark King of Johnston City; 2 brothers, Gene Blades and wife Sue of Thompsonville and Everett Blades and wife Betty of Marion; sisters-in-law, Donna Blades and Doris Gwaltney; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Joyce King; a sister, Helen (Blades) Summers; and brothers, Paul, Robert, and Leroy Blades.
