ELIZABETH "BETTY" LAWRENCE
Elizabeth "Betty" Lawrence, 84, of Johnston City went to be with the Lord Monday evening November 5th at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home with her daughter by her side. Graveside services were held at Boner Cemetery November 7, at 1:00PM with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating
Betty was born on May 14, 1928 in Johnston City, IL the daughter of Matt and Lucy (Marnich) Dragovich. She married Donald Lawrence December 15, 1957. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1985.
Betty was an employee of Smolar Brothers Dress Factory for over 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Johnston City. In her free time, Betty enjoyed visiting with neighbors and family.
Survivors include daughter and caretaker Vanessa Thome and husband Kevin of Stiritz, son James Dennis Lawrence and wife Holli of Johnston City, grandchildren Paige Beck of Metropolis, Kaitlin Thome of Nashville, TN, James Ryan Lawrence of Carterville, Briana Lawrence of Johnston City, and one great grandson Brier Beck whom she loved spending time with. She is also survived by one sister, Rose Reed, many nieces and nephews, and a very special friend Patricia Thome.
