BETTY JEAN MAHAN
Johnston City-Betty Jean Mahan 81, of Carbondale formerly of Johnston City passed away at 2:15 P.M. Sunday November 4, 2012 with her daughter and granddaughters by her side in the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday November 8, 2012 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Ted Hartley officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the funeral home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Betty was born on March 5, 1931 in Nashville the daughter of Clyde and Violet (Evilsizer) Sanders.

Betty worked for Mars Incorporated. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Johnston City.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicky Barron of DeSoto and friend Robert Pleasant; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Blades of Herrin; a son-in-law, Robert Barron Sr. of Stiritz; four grandchildren, Sabrina Stevens of Johnston City and significant other James Mataya, Candice Basenberg and husband will of Stiritz, William David Blades and wife Alicia of Harrisburg, and Shawn Blades and wife Penny of Benton; two step-grandchildren, Amber Damico and husband Rick and Melissa Clark and husband Dave; great grandchildren, MaKayla Stevens, Jacob Perez, Mia South, Jaycee Perez, Trenten Basenberg, Gabriel Blades, Isaiah Blades, Jace Blades, Jaylin, and Jaxton; step great grandchildren, Alexis, Layla, Braxton, Cameron, and Brooklyn; grandson-in-law, Tony Stevens; granddaughter-in-law, Angie Combs; the four survivors of the lucky seven, Mary Imhoff, Catherine Eaton, Betty Bennett, and Jenny Grant; two sisters, Karen Miner and husband Paul of Texas and Pam Wiese and husband Ken of Texas; sister-in-law, Iris Sanders of Johnston City; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Michael Connell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bill Blades; a grandson, Edwin Perez; and a brother, Clyde E. Sanders.
