BETTY JUNE MITCHELL

West Frankfort-Betty June Mitchell 92 passed away at 4:00 A.M. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Westside Rehab & Health Care in West Frankfort.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at 1:00 P.M in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with Pastor Bryant Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.

Betty was born on August 25, 1925 in Johnston City the daughter of George and Hattie (Lewis) Jent. She was married to Elmer Troy Mitchell who preceded her in death on September 1, 1973.

Betty was a lifelong Christian and member of the West Frankfort First Christian Church. She was best remembered for her years of employment at Grandpa Johns and her willingness to help others in need. She was a long time resident of Heritage Woods of Benton were she had many friends including the staff. In her final days she was grateful for the staff at Westside Rehab in West Frankfort. She was a cancer survivor.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Troy Williams and wife Cacie of West Frankfort, and Ari Layne Williams of Idaho; son-in-law, J. Scott Williams and wife Terry of West Frankfort; several nieces, nephews and friends; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tamalou (Mitchell) Williams; brothers, Earl, Vearl, and George "Red" Jent.
