BETTY MARIE (WHITING) RAWSON

Betty Marie (Whiting) Rawson, 95, of Johnston City, IL, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL.
Services will be held on Monday September 19, 2016 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home, 211 W. Broadway, Johnston City. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m to noon, followed by the service, and interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.
Betty was born January 26, 1921 in Linn County, Iowa to Willis O. Whiting and Lena (Van Fossen) Whiting. She married Lee Richard Rawson on March 10, 1946 in Covington, Iowa and they were married 58 years until Lee's death in 2004.
Betty is survived by her brothers Karl Whiting and wife Bonnie, David Whiting and wife Mary; sisters-in-law Nelda Faye Rawson, Ruby Rawson; four children, Karyn Golliher and husband Michael, Kathryn Froehlich and husband Mark, Lee Rawson, Jr. and wife Linda, and Joanne Millhorn and husband Steven; six grandchildren Amy (Scott) Allmon, Laura (Kary) Caldwell, Sarah (Bill) Rule, Evan (Kelly) Froehlich, Dale (Ashley) Rawson, and David Rawson; ten great grandchildren, Shayla and Noah Caldwell, Alyssa and Bradlee Froehlich, Lily and Landon Rawson, Wyatt and Everett Allmon, Will and Grace Rule; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lloyd and Paul Whiting, sisters-in-law Mary and Ferne Rawson and Lillian Coonrod; four brothers-in-law Joseph, Leslie, Dale, and Virgil Rawson.
Betty will always be remembered for her loving kindness, twinkling blue eyes and her beautiful smile. Her family was her life and she demonstrated her heartfelt love for each of them.
