BILL JAMES SLOAN

Marion–Bill James Sloan 80 of Marion passed away at 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday November 9, 2011 at his family home.

Bill was born on September 28, 1931 in West Frankfort the son of Leo and Lillie (Mills) Sloan. He married Mary Claudine (James). She survives.

Bill was a truck driver. He was a veteran proudly serving in the army during the Korean War.

He is survived by one son, Brian Sloan of Marion, a daughter, Dr. Sandra Sloan and husband Jack Williams of Chico, CA; one granddaughter, Baily Williams; three great grandchildren, Bryton McPheron, Rian McPheron, and Mason McPheron; one brother, Alan Sloan of Johnston City; three sisters, Alma Fisher of Marion, Evelyn Smith and husband Mike of Johnston City, and Karen West of Marion.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kent Sloan; two brothers, Bob Sloan and Leonard Sloan; and one sister, Doris Baker.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements
