BONNIE ELAINE HENDERSON

Bonnie Elaine Henderson (White), 77, of Creal Springs, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Tuesday, March 01, 2022. She was born on March, 13, 1944 in Iuka, Mississippi to Albie and Alma White. She married John Henderson of Chicago on February 13, 1960.  Together, they had five children and spent most of their marriage in Chicago and Southern Illinois.  She was the kind of person who was friends with everyone and would always welcome you at her kitchen table for a hot meal and a cup of coffee.  She loved to have company and drink coffee around the kitchen table while sharing stories.  She loved food and owned and operated a restaurant for many years in Zeigler, Illinois.  She loved to host family parties and loved hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations at her home.  She loved Elvis Presley and Stephen King Novels. Bonnie was a lover of friends and family and loved to spend her free time with all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her best friend Bruce "PaPaw" Merrick.  She was a light to all that knew her and was a joy to be around.  She will be forever loved and missed by everyone that knew her.

She is survived by her children Rick and Claudia Henderson (spouse) of Marcellus, MI, Bob Henderson of Creal Springs, IL, and Susan Trout and Brian Williams (spouse) of West Frankfort, IL; Daughter in Law Steveny Henderson of Pittsburgh, Il, and sister Sue and Herb Bruse of Niceville, Fl.

Bonnie leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored; Michael and Ashley Henderson of MI, Steve and Brittany Henderson of Chicago, Il, Amber and Erik Williams of Stiritz, Il, Brett and Faith Leadingham of Southern Illinois, Alyssa Henderson of Zeigler, Il, Alan and Madison Henderson of Marion, Il, Skylar and Tyvon Farr of Marion, Il, Kaylee Henderson of Marcellus, MI, Peyton Trout of West Frankfort, Il; Jude and Phoebe Henderson Pittsburgh, IL;  JoJo, Angel and Bella Henderson of Creal Springs, Illinois and Brian and Shelby Williams of Paducah, Ky and Colten and Hanna Merrick of Johnston City, Il.  Bonnie had several great grandchildren; Harper and Lillian Williams, Logan and Jace Henderson, Colt Leadingham, Sophia Henderson, Aubrionna and Alaia Farr, Novella and Hunter Mitchem and Jensen Merrick.

She is preceded in death by her parents Albie and Alma White, sister Jean White, husband John Henderson, and sons James and Steve Henderson.

Her last wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes spread at Shell Island in Florida.  The family will honor her wishes in a private ceremony at a later date.
