Obituary

Brenda Joyce Fleming, 82, of rural Pittsburg passed away at 11:37 P.M. on Friday January 3, 2025 at the Anchor in Marion.

Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday January 13, 2025 at Lake Creek cemetery with pastor Steve Higgs officiating.

Memorials may be made to Breeze Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the graveside.

Brenda was born on June 4, 1942 in Johnston City, the daughter of Loy and Helen (Goddard) Forcum.

She was a graduate of Johnston City High School and completed a program at VTI of Southern Illinois University. She worked in the SIU art department, Allen Industries, and various jobs before marrying Charles Fleming on January 7, 1972 and becoming a homemaker.

Brenda was a very talented artist who painted in oil and watercolor. She enjoyed painting landscapes and portraits. She especially enjoyed painting portraits of her grandchildren. She also loved working outdoors in her yard. Brenda was a member of the Johnston City First Christian Church and the Little Egypt Arts Association.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Annette Keister (Dean) of Marion and son Robert Fleming of Lowell IN. Two granddaughters Jamie Kreuter of Clarksville TN and Jenna Ellet (James) of Marion and one grandson Mitchell Fleming of Lowell IN. Eight great grandchildren, Natelie Lewis, Abbie Arnett, Whitlee Lannom, Brynlee Kreuter, River Ellet, Chase Kreuter, Kerigan Ellet, and Piper Ellet. Two great-great grand children Ava Arnett and Khyson Williams. Four Brothers Charles Forcum, Daniel Forcum, Ronald Forcum, and Dallas Forcum. Three sisters Margie Harris, Diana Strunk, and Jeani West.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Charlie, beloved daughter Jennifer Rebecca and Granddaughter Jodie Caraway.

She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
