CARL LAVON SMITH

Johnston City-Carl LaVon Smith 82 passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Heartland Reginal Medical Center in Marion.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion, and U.S. Navy Burial Honor's.

Carl was born on July 1, 1936 in Johnston City the son of Carl and Wyonna June (Thomas) Smith. He married Ardith Elaine (Carlton) on July 29, 1989 in Kenosha, WI. She survives.

Carl proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He has worked as a Church Secretary.

HHHe is survived by two daughters, Shavon Emmanuelson and husband Gary, and Jennifer Davis and husband Joe; three step-daughters, Cassandra Longstreet and husband Scott, Amanda Melnyk and husband Alex; and Kimberly Boggs and husband Kevin; one step-son, Jay Bowden and wife Cristie; 18 grandchildren; great grandchildren; an aunt, Helen Davies; and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carolyn Sue Eldridge.
