CAROLINE HENRIETTA (WICKERT) SIMS

Pittsburg –Caroline Sims 84, of Pittsburg passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday June 14, 2010 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor John Holtz officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Prairie Cemetery east of Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Caroline was born on December 28, 1925, in Marion, the daughter of August Frederick Wickert and Mary Rosetta (Wohlwend). She married Howard Ross Sims, Jr. He survives.

Caroline retired from Norge where she worked for 25 years. She was a life long member of Zion United Church of Christ, was baptized and confirmed. She was an excellent seamstress, she canned and gardened and was an avid Cardinals fan. She dedicated her life to her husband and family.

She was a member of the Williamson County Farm Bureau and Zion United Church of Christ Deborah Circle.

She is survived by two children, Alan Sims and wife Nancy, Duane Sims and wife Sharon. Grandchildren: Chelsey Nichole (Sims) Wyant and husband Curtis. Kimberlee Monique Todd and partner Josh Childress, Mara Grace (Sims) Gaddis and husband Brandon Lee Gaddis and Patrick Ross Sims, Charles Joshua Sims. One brother, Paul Eugene Wickert and wife Easter (Clarida). Two sisters, Esta Mae Fowler and Mara Lou Hubert and husband Richard, and sisters-in-law Edith Wickert and Elaine Soberg Wickert. Great grand children: Austin Lee Todd, Kara Leighellen Todd, Lane Alan Lee Todd, Ashlyn LeeAnn Sims, Collin Ross Wyant, Mia Childress and Micah Childress. She had twenty nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Greta Mae Sims, brothers Harold John Wickert, August Louis Wickert and brother-in-law Bob Fowler.
