CATHERINE MARIE (KOWALIS) HOPE
Johnston City-Catherine Marie (Kowalis) Hope, 76, of Johnston City, passed away at 5:02 A.M. Thursday March 30, 2017 at the Herrin Hospital.
Catherine was born on November 2, 1940 in Johnston City the daughter of Tony and Anna (Bennett) Kowalis. She married William "Bill" Hope on August 29 1959 in Johnston City. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2007.

Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. Family always came first. She worked at the Food Shop in the butcher shop and also in the laundry mat. She loved to bass fish with her husband and to dance. She was a huge fan of WWE Wrestling. She was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church of Johnston City.

She is survived by one son, Mark Hope of Johnston City; two grandsons, Tony Hope and Bradley Hope; one sister, Patricia Francescon and husband Don of Waterloo; one brother, Mike Kowalis and wife Linda of Energy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mike Hope; two brothers, Walter "Sonny" Kowalis and Ralph "Peppy" Kowalis; and a sister, Evelyn Goralski.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday April 3, 2017 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Msgr. Thomas Flach officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Johnston City.
