CHARLES NORMAN ARMES SR.

Johnston City-Charles Norman Armes SR. 77 passed away at his home in West Frankfort Illinois on Tuesday November 14th, 2017. Norman "Chuck" was born on August 5th, 1940 to Charlie and Irene Armes in Thompsonville Illinois along with his four sisters. He graduated from JCHS in 1959.

Norman worked at Old Ben #26 coal mine. He met his beautiful bride Sandra Sue Armes in High School and they married in 1960 in Johnston City Illinois. Norman worked in the mines for 23 years. Norman loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was actively involved in church and helped any person he met. He never met a stranger.
Norman is survived by his Wife Sandra. His sons Charles (Shelley) Armes. John (Alicia) Armes. Mark (Kristina) Armes. Grandchildren Amy (Phillip Hahn), Adam Nordmeyer, Heather (Jim) Craver, Dakota, Braylee , Alyssa , Reagan, Bronson, Lillian, Ace Armes. Sisters Mary Bodeau, Shirley Carter, Donna Long. Great Grandchildren, Dalton, Kerstin Green. Gabe, Macey and Charlotte Hahn. Jace, Owen and Aubrey Craver.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Carol Nordmeyer and his sister Sharon Bosonac.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 18th, 2017 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City at 11:00 am with Reverend Mark Mohler officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday November 17th, 2017 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church Building Fund in Marion, Illinois.
