CHARLES "CHUCK" CLEMENTS
Johnston City–Charles "Chuck" Clements 81, of Johnston City passed away on Thursday January 28, 2010 at 12:38 P.M. at his family home.
Chuck was born on December 9, 1928, in Johnston City, the son of John and Flossie (Reynolds) Clements. He first married Patty (Lansford) Owens and together they had four children. He later married Phyllis J. (Steinmetz) who preceded him in death.
Chuck started his own business at a young age as owner of Hi-Way Cabinet Shop a local residential construction company. Chuck later built hotels across the country and high rise condominiums in the gulf coast area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and water fowl carving. He came to think of Palm Springs, CA as his second home late in life.
He is survived by four children, Mike Clements of CA, Cathy Spehar and husband Scott of CA, Lance Clements and wife Nancy of AL, and Jon Clements and wife Merry of AL; four grandchildren, Kristi Spehar, Justin Clements and wife Margaret, Ryan Clements, and Janell Clements; one great grandchild, William Ryan Clements; two brothers, Ralph Clements and wife Marilyn of St. Louis, MO, and Kenny Clements and wife Sharon of Johnston City; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion Flossie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Polly, Thelma, and Barbara; and five brothers, Orvil, John Jr., Ronald, Billy Joe, and Albert "Gene".
Services will be held at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Sunday January 31, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Chuck will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
