CHERYL LYNN MORGAN

Today, we mourn the passing of Cheryl Lynn Morgan. Cheryl passed away peacefully at Herrin Hospital surrounded by people who loved her. She was born in Peoria Illinois on October 4th, 1953 to Richard and Mildred Smith.Cheryl had a wonderful family that loved and supported her. She was blessed to have two brothers and two sisters, Louie and Charlie Smith and Merchail Cole and Tammie Good. Cheryl met and married Jerald Morgan and moved to Southern Illinois. Cheryl raised and unconditionally loved two children, Dewey Morgan and Eula Leeper. She was a loving Mother in Law to Stacey Morgan and Carl Leeper as well as a very proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Tyler, Mitchell, Taylor, Noah, Brittney, Hanna, Ben and Baby Myles were the loves of her life.Cheryl also found great joy in being a sister in law and Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Cheryl had a very strong faith in Jesus. This was very evident in the way she lived her life. She always put other people's needs ahead of her own and could often be found helping friends, family or anyone who she felt could use help or a hug. Cheryl had a beautiful, infectious smile that would light up any room. She was also a true and loyal friend to many people who had the privilege of meeting her. Cheryl truly valued the relationships she had with people and would do anything in her power to help the people she called friends.Cheryl loved her family more than any word or words could express and we will miss her until the day we get to hug her again and see that beautiful smile. We are all better people because of her and will be eternally grateful we were lucky enough to share our lives with her. A small, private gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date to celebrate Cheryl's life. The family also asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a small donation, in Cheryl's memory, to the Manna Mission in Johnston City, Illinois.
