CLARA JANE CURRY
Johnston City-Clara Jane Curry, 95, of Johnston City, passed away at 7:20 P.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Michael Mayfield officiating. Burial will be held in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Janie was born on January 22, 1918 in Herrin the daughter of Hosea and Florence (Leaman) Helms. She married Robert Curry on October 22, 1938 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2001.

Janie was a homemaker.

She is survived by a two sons, Loren Curry and wife Rebecca of West Frankfort, and Robert Curry and wife Donna of Ferges; grandchildren, Shaunn Curry, Gretchen Curry, Janine Curry, and Chad Curry; two step-grandchildren, Isaac and Eli Gibson; great grandchildren, Josh and Kaleb Hunter and Garrett and Gauge Leposky; and one great-great grandchild, Harper Leposky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Stewart; three brothers, John, Paul, and Bill Helms; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Curry; and a grandson, Bobby Curry.
