CLARENCE WARD JORDAN

Corinth–Clarence Ward Jordan 83, of Corinth passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:20 P.M. at the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.

Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Saturday August 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tyrone Hartness officiating. Burial will be in the #8 Cemetery east of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. till 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Ward was born on May 4, 1927 in Williamson County, the son of Freeman and Nola (Leigh) Jordan. He married Erma (Beers) on December 24, 1949. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2002.

He was a veteran of WWII proudly serving in the navy. He retired from the Freeman Coal Company. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

He is survived by two sons, Gene Jordan and wife Cindy of Pittsburg, and Richard Jordan and wife Sharon of Pittsburg; two grandchildren, David and Miranda of Pittsburg; and one brother, Roy Jordan and wife Carolyn of West Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Krause; and one brother, Clyde Jordan.
