DAVID "PA" CAMPBELL

Johnston City–David "Pa" Campbell passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 6:52 P.M. in the Herrin Hospital

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 20, 2022 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Gaylon Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Funeral home.

Dave was born on September 17, 1944 on Davis Street in Johnston City the son of Ollie "Pops" and Wilma (Briscoe) Campbell.

Dave was blessed by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by three daughters, Kimberly (Campbell) Kirby, Kelly (Campbell) Jones, Letha Campbell, and he verbally adopted Mary Ann Garrison; a grandson, Micheal Faulkner; granddaughters, Abby Jones, Alex Jones, and most importantly, Gracie Beers his little pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vernon Campbell; a sister, Sherrill (Campbell) Benge and husband John; a sister, Joyce (Campbell) Morris and husband Dale; a brother Dallas Campbell; uncles, Roland Briscoe, James Briscoe and wife Elfreda.

Dave was a legend in Johnston City and loved by so many. He was a member of Laborer's Local Union #372 of Herrin.  Dave was an active member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City and a retired labor construction worker, building Washington School among many other businesses and highway construction for E.T. Simon. Dave was a die-hard Cardinal fan. Dave, when he was your friend, he would protect you and was always true to his word. Dave led a full life. He loved fishing at Donnie and Janice Gaddis's pond east of Johnston City.
