DAVID F. DEAN

Johnston City-David F. Dean (Pigg) 80 passed away at 4:05 P.M. on Wednesday July 15, 2020 at the Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV.

Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Pastor Deon Baker officiating. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

David was born on February 26, 1940 in Clifton, TN the son of Clarence and Mary Ann (Worley) Pigg.

David was previously married to Donna Dean (Owens). They married in 1961. Together they shared 25 years of marriage.

David previously lived in Johnston City prior to moving to Nevada. He was a retired coal miner. He proudly served in the U.S, Air Force.

He is survived by 5 children, Vernon (Heather) Williams of Crab Orchard, Kathy Grimes of Johnston City, Billy (Jeanne) Dean of Johnston City, Mary Ann (Deon) King of Marion, Todd Dean of Johnston City; 9 grandchildren, Troy (Valerie) Williams, Tabby Williams of Crab Orchard, Tonya Wilson and Sabrina Davis of Johnston City, Josh (Sarah) Dean of Carterville, Nick (Cheyenne) Dean of Johnston City. Ashley (Tim) Weber of Johnston City, Kyle Baker of Marion and Conner Dean of Johnston City; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jerry (Eula) Pigg of Johnston City and Dexter Page of Johnston City; and a host of friends, especially poker friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Pigg; a sister, Arley Genuisz; brothers, Woodrow Pigg and M.F. Pigg.

David loved to play poker. He enjoyed being around all of his friends in a good poker game. David's favorite holiday was Christmas being around all his family, especially his grandchildren.
