DAVID WAYNE HURLEY
Johnston City-David Wayne Hurley 66 departed life peacefully January 27 2014 at 3:02 am.
He was born at home in Crainville June 10 1947 at 5:25 am the son of Ernest Wayne Hurley and Wilma Marie Bennett-Hurley.
He was a graduate of Johnston City High School class of 1965 -where he was known by everyone as "HOOKS".
At the age of 20 he met the love of his life Shelia Lee Dillingham. They where married May 4 1981.
David and Shelia owned Hurley's Showbar since 1981 to present.
He enjoyed in his spare time going to the campground to ride his horses, sitting around with his guitar playing music and playing the songs he wrote.
He was a man of many talents a carpenter, pilot, horseshoer/blacksmith, and played in various bands over the years.
If he was your friend you had a friend for life he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. If you ever wanted the truth all you had to do is ask him you wouldn't of gotten anything but that.
Survivors include wife Shelia of Corinth. Daughter Tammy Marie Cravens/Kell and husband Scott of Carterville. Daughter Jessi Marie Hurley of Johnston City. Grandson's Chad Davis/fiancé Lauren of Saint Louis MO and Samuel Davis and wife Veronica of Carterville.
Granddaughter Halle Marie Hurley age 3 years old of Johnston City.

Randy Price and husband Larry of Pittsburg.
Nephew Kip Hendrickson and wife Traci- Florida
Niece- Julie Johnson -Johnston city
He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Hurley and uncle Charles "Boob" Bennett.
His family deeply appreciates the friendships and caring support of those he knew and loved.
Upon his wishes there will be no services held.
A memorial/benefit will be held on Saturday February, 8 2014 5pm at Hurleys Showbar Johnston City
