DAVID WAYNE MENN

Johnston City-David Wayne Menn 63 passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 3:26 P.M. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

David was born in Beeville, TX. His family settled in his dad's hometown of Johnston City when he was 9 years old.

At 17 he joined the U.S. Navy and served 4 years honorably in San Diego, CA and Misawa, Japan, where he met his soulmate, Marie.

His wife's career took them back to San Diego then 10 years on the island of Oahu. He traveled in the navy but had always planned to return to his home in Johnston City.

Those who knew Dave best knew he cherished his family and friends. He was a hard working employee at Maytag Corp. then Southern Illinois Healthcare in IT department. He would mourn the end of football season, loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. He loved dogs and eventually learned to love cats too.

Those who mourn his passing are his wife, Marie; brother, Bruce Menn (Adrienne); nephews, Mason Menn (Michelle), Brad Menn (Brady); nieces, Cassidy (Brian), Kacey (Mitchell), Allison, and Andrea; his uncle, Noel aunt Liz; cousins, Mark Dettloff and Craig Dettloff.

He reunited with his father, Ronnie Clements and mother, Gloria Clements.

David was a born-again Believer and as the Bible promises, he is enjoying his forever home in Heaven.
