DAVID LEE WINTERS
Johnston City-David Lee Winters 60, of Johnston City passed away at 4:34 P.M. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his family home.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor David Nolen officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.

David was born on January 3, 1954 in Tacoma, WA the son of Arlie and Doris Jolene (Lemay) Winters. He married Rosemary (Gwodzik) on June 11, 1977 in Johnston City. She survives.

David worked at Maytag in Herrin for 35 years as a press operator. He worked as a delivery driver for NAPA in Marion for 4 years. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed watching football. He absolutely adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother of Johnston City; a son, Bryan Winters and wife Sabrina of Herrin; a daughter, Laura Cullum and husband Jason of Johnston City; 4 grandchildren, Brianna Winters, Vanessa Winters, Nickolas Cullum and Emily Cullum; a brother, Richard Winters of Benton; a sister, Eva Jo Black and husband Bryan of Carterville; a brother-in-law, Arthur Gwodzik and wife Sheila of Marion; a niece, Tasha Black; a nephew, Austin Black and wife Ragan; and a special family friend, Lili McBride.

He was preceded in death by his father.
