DONALD LEO RAGSDALE SR.

Johnston City–Donald Leo Ragsdale Sr. 64, of Johnston City passed away on Tuesday September 14, 2010 at 9:40 P.M. at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Services will be held on Saturday September 18 at 4:00 P.M. at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Donald was born on July 25, 1946 in Franklin County, the son of Walter Ragsdale and Garlean (Fleming) Burnett. He married Peggy (Morrison) on September 6, 1988 in Clarksville, GA. They had been together for 32 years. She survives.

He was a car salesman and an avid squirrel and rabbit hunter. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa who enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of Johnston City; six daughters, LaDonna S. Ragsdale of Johnston City, Anne M. Ragsdale and Nathan A. Belcher of Marion, Sarah J. Ragsdale of Marion, Jennifer D. Ragsdale of Marion, Rebecca L. Roethler and husband David Jr. of Marion, Brenda Ragsdale of Herrin; and one son, Donald Ragsdale Jr. of Johnston City; 11 grandchildren, April Wyatt, Gary Ragsdale, James Ragsdale, Montana Ragsdale, David Roethler III, Kristi Roethler, Kassidy Roethler, Kaci Roethler, Raeann Lee, Paytyn Everly, Emma Belcher, and two grandsons on the way; one great grandson, Curtis Wyatt Jr.; one sister, Darla Pattilo of Marion and two other sisters; and one brother; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, and three brothers.
