DONALD LOYAL SPOONER

Johnston City–Donald Loyal Spooner 82 of Johnston City passed away at 11:08 P.M. on Friday December 23, 2011 in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 29, 2011 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Lee Petty officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Johnston City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Donald was born on March 19, 1929 in Marion, Iowa the son of Clayton and Myrtle (Cory) Spooner. He married Rosalie (Barra) on June 17, 1989 in Hannibal, MO. She survives.

Donald was an over the road truck driver retiring in 1986 from A.B.F. Trucking Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Johnston City.

He is survived by three daughters, Margo Rouette of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Denise Morino and husband Joe of Clairmont, California, and Donna Turk and Mitch of Tustin, California; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Jack Barra and wife Sandra of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Ron Rouette; and a brother-in-law, Tom Barra.
