Donnie BEERS
Johnston City–Donnie Beers, 76, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 5:13 P.M. at home.
Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home of Johnston City on Saturday March 14, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Msgr. Ken Schaefer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Lake Creek Masonic Lodge #729.
Donnie was born on January 7, 1944 in Corinth, the son of Howard and Freda (Wiseman) Beers. He married Sandra (Stege) on January 14, 1995 in Marion. She survives.
He is survived by two sons, Donnie Beers and wife Lorraine of Springfield, and Danny Beers and wife Lori of Johnston City; one daughter, Tina Lindsey and husband Brian of Johnston City; grandchildren, Ashley Haapapuro and husband Lucas, Andrew Beers and wife Paige, Hannah Beers, Alex Beers, Megan Dawes-Smith, Anthony Spiller and Michael Lazorchak, Tyler Spiller and wife Rene, Briant Lindsey and wife Angel, Kendrick Lindsey and wife Priscilla, Marlena Lindsey; great grandchildren, Evelina Haapapuro, Collin Smith, Gage Spiller, Miya Spiller, Charlotte Lindsey, Miloh Casey, Sebastian Lindsey; sisters, Linda Grant and husband Noel, Barbara Harris and husband Jim, Kim Davis and husband David; brothers-in-law, Howard Stege and Bob Knizer
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Roberts; step sons, Howard Altepeter and Jeffery Grizzell; grandchildren, Trevor Grizzell and Nathan Spiller.
Donnie was a carpenter local #638 for 42 years. He was a member of Lake Creek Masonic Lodge #729 and a member of the Williamson County Shrine Club. He was a member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City. He was a member of the Oleo Bird Club of Pittsburg. He was a member of the Elk's Club of Marion.
Donnie liked to hunt, fish, and gardening. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
