DOROTHY "DOTTY" ELLEN MCCLELAND

Johnston City–Dorothy "Dotty" Ellen McCleland 80, of Johnston City passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 1:19 P.M. at Helia Health Care in Energy.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 30, 2020, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Steven Hudspath officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Dotty was born on October 10, 1940 in Metropolis the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Miller) Vancil. She married Joel E. McCleland. He preceded her in death.

She was a charge nurse at the Herrin Hospital. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Johnston City.

She is survived by three sons, Patrick McCleland of Louisville, KY, Troy McCleland and wife Judy of Herrin, and Chad McCleland of Murphysboro; grandsons, Nathan and Kyle; a sister, Kathryn Geerdes of Primghar, Iowa; a brother, Tim Vancil and wife Becky of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a sister, Marna Sawyer and husband Donnie of Metropolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
