Edith J. Smith-Brandon

Johnston City–Edith J. Smith-Brandon, 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 11:36 A.M. in the Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home of Johnston City on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Dannie Tackett and Pastor Bruce Fox officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City.

Edith was born on May 21, 1926 in Morganfield, KY, the daughter of Claude and Effie (Watson) Higginson . She married Ernest Brandon who survives.

She is survived by six children, Jerry Wayne Smith, Elizabeth Jean Smith, William Eugene Smith, Eva Jewel Smith, Mildred Ann Smith, and Billy Joe Smith; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wendell Lee Smith; and an infant child.
