Edna Beatty (Chasteen) Savant passed away on July 16, 2026, at Deaconess Hospital in Marion at 12:30 A.M.

She was born May 22, 1929, to Otto and Anna Virginia (Brown) Chasteen. They preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to Robert P. "Ribs" Savant on April 30, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2016.

She was employed for several years at Hathaway and Co, Allen Industries of Herrin, National Transformer of Johnston City, and was retired from Food Shop in Johnston City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Johnston City. She enjoyed being a volunteer at Manna Mission. She loved flowers and gardening, keeping house and cooking. Her favorite holiday was Christmas Eve with many happy memories.

She is survived by several Nieces and Nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two brothers; Burt (Ruth) Chasteen and Robert (Nadine) Chasteen, one sister; Virginia (Virgil) Richison, and two infant sisters.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
