EDWARD L. PARKS

Johnston City-Edward L. Parks 88 passed away at 6:15 P.M. on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Home.

Edward was born on May 16, 1934 in Creal Springs, the son of William Henry and Sarah Magdalene (Marks) Parks. He married Marion Delores (Blasco) on May 23, 1953 in Marion. She survives.

Edward retired as a tool and dye maker working for Norge. He was a veteran proudly serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Blue Herron Fishing Club in Carterville.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Smothers of Johnston City; two sons, Mike Parks and wife Lois of Herrin and Ron Parks and wife Nore of DeSoto; and two sisters, Dee Adams of Harrisburg and Edith Rogers and husband Ron of Georgia; and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eddie Parks; a daughter, Cheryl Wece; three sisters, Lucille Biers, Aileen Walker, and Isabelle Smith; and a brother, Evertt Parks.

Services will be held at a later date. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home of Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
