EDWIN PEREZ
Johnston City-Edwin Perez 36 of O'Fallon formerly of Johnston City passed away Sunday February 5, 2012 at 8:00 A.M. at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with brain cancer.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday February 9, 2012 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Larry Richmond officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Edwin was born on May 20, 1975 in Chicago the son of Vicky (Blades) Barron. He married Laura (Richmond) on February 26, 2005 in Champaign. She survives.
He worked as a retail manager at Dick's Sporting Goods.
He was a Christian. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and being outdoors. He was an avid sports fan. He was a great husband and father. He was very determined and always had a positive outlook. He had a great sense of humor and was very witty. He was loved by many and had a very large friend base. He was a member of the Buccaneer's Club and Oleo Bird Club.
He is survived by his mother, of DeSoto; two children, Jacob Michael Perez at home and Jaycee Morgan Perez at home; 2 brothers, Jerry Barron of Johnston City and Robert Barron Jr. and wife Glenda of Thompsonville; 3 sisters, Lisa Lindsay and husband Todd of Herrin, Kim McCollum and husband William of Mulkeytown; and Candice Basenberg and husband Will of Johnston City; mother-in-law and father-in-law Brenda and Johnny Richmond of Herrin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lana and Bart Kievit of Marion; nieces, Lauryn Staley, Brenyn Kievit, Chloe Fox, Beth Hanner, Jennifer Penley, Nikki Fletcher, Mia South, Makayla Stevens; a nephew, Trenten Basenberg; several other nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Anna Dell Barron and Oscar "Bill" Blades.
