Edwin William Stanislawski

Edwin William Stanislawski of Waukegan Illinois, born in Copenhagen, New York on April 14, 1934 passed away on April 7, 2018, age 83 surrounded by loved ones. Edwin served in the US Navy, aboard the USS Johnson; before moving to Illinois in 1954.  He met the love of his life, Phyllis Owens, of Johnston City, Illinois on a blind date. They celebrated 51 years of marriage in 2006, before she passed away. Eddie and his wife settled in Waukegan, Illinois in 1958, where they raised three daughters. He attended church at the Church of God of Prophecy in Waukegan, and later at The Church of God in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After driving a semi-truck for Keller Trucking in Park City Illinois for 25 years he retired in 1993.  He was a family man, who loved having everyone over for holidays.  He was his happiest with a house full of people, laughing and enjoying life.  He enjoyed playing all types of board games, traveling with family, and Chicago adventures.  His all-time favorite activity was collecting "treasures" he'd find at estate sales. Survivors include his three daughters, Janet Scott, Cindi (Joe) Stanonik, and Reba Reeves.  He leaves grandchildren Jaime, Matthew (Jessica), Amanda (JT), Justin (Julaine), Brandon, Nicholas and Katie; his great grandchildren: Cameron, Lililynn, Kaelyn, Leighton, Isabelle, Chase and Serenity. He has two dear sisters, Wanda (Rev Donald Brown) of Johnston City IL and Sandra Wren of Equality IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, his parents Felix & Irene; sisters: Janet, Dolores and Joie and great granddaughter Kyla and many beloved in-laws. A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City IL at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 with Pastor Don Brown officiating and graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W. American Legion and Navy Burial Honors Team. Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
