ELAINE LYELL

Johnston City-Elaine Lyell 91 passed away at 9:16 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Stephen Hudspath officiating. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Elaine was born on August 29, 1929 in Johnston City the daughter of Oscar and Lula (Nelson) Hayes. She married Jesse Franklin Lyell, who preceded her in death.

Elaine was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Stiritz Methodist Church. She was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by a daughter, Jessica McPhail of Lake Wales, FL; a son James Lyell of Overland Park, KS; Grandchildren, Greg McPhail and wife Robyn, Ronda Moreland and Husband Forrest, Michele Fry and husband Scott, Dustin Prather, Jennifer Lyell, Casey Hall and husband Josh, Jacob Lyell, Amanda Rae Harvel and husband Ron; several special great grandchildren; several special nieces, nephews, and family; and her hairdresser Susan Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles and Jerry Ray Lyell; several loving brothers and sisters.

She is loved and adored by many.
