ELSIE RUTH HOYLE

Elsie R. Hoyle, age 85 of Marion, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 4:05 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home 211 W Broadway Johnston City, IL 62951.

The visitation service will be held for family and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, Illinois. The Funeral services will follow the visitation, beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Seth Schalg officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City, immediately following the funeral.

Elsie loved taking care of children all of her life; not only did she have 7 children of her own, she also gave her love and care to many foster children. Elsie went through life never meeting a stranger, and always striking up conversations about the families of those she met. For the entirety of her life, she attended a Baptist church, walked the Christian faith, and enjoyed listening and singing those old traditional hymns. In her free time, Elsie loved spending time with her family, doing puzzles, playing all sorts of board and card games, and crocheting. One of her all-time favorite things was her family and taking photos of them any chance she could get.

Elsie was born Feb. 21, 1935 in Trilla, Illinois, as the daughter of Lester and Edna Fetters. She is survived by the father of her children, Kenneth Davidson. Together they had 6 daughters and 1 son: Evelyn (Ron) McGee, Marsha (Chuck) Suiter, Donna (Scott) Hall, Brenda (Bruce) McLaren, Melissa (Bryan) Gibbens, Janet (Adolfo) Chavera, and Joseph Davidson; 12 Grandchildren: Sean McGee, Keegan McGee, Christina Dinkins, Brenda Riddle, Rebecca Murphy, Robert Etherton, Cheyenne Hall, Cecil Hayes, Brittney Gibbens, Joshua Gibbens, Amanda Prince, and Alexis Chavera; 13 Great-Grandchildren: Zepher, Evalynn, Lucy, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Rhyder, Sawyer, Oliver, Brayden, Bethany, Anthony, Angelina, and Chris. Elsie is also survived by her 3 sisters and 1 brother: Pauline (Emery) Gast, Fern Johnston, Marge (Randall) Lugar, and Orville (Debbie) Fetters, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Edna Fetters, brother Benny Fetters, brother-in-law Wayne Johnston, and grandson baby Anthony Chavera.
