EUGENE "GENE" LECERF
Johnston City–Eugene "Gene" Lecerf, 64, of Johnston City, passed away at 12:30 P.M on Monday December 11, 2006 at his family home.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 16, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Johnston City with Rev. Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, at the church. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in Charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the First Baptist Church of Johnston City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or church.
Gene was born on November 26, 1942, in Detroit, MI, the son of Albert P. and June E. (Andresen) Lecerf.
Gene was a funeral director and embalmer last working at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home. He graduated from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in August of 1966. He was a member of Sigma Phi Sigma Fraternity, Egyptian Funeral Directors Association, Illinois Funeral Directors Association, and the First Baptist Church of Johnston City.
He is survived by one daughter, Aimee Lecerf; one brother Jack Lecerf and wife Marianne of Copley, OH; three nieces, Katie, Kristen, and Kelsey; one aunt, Pearl Zanotti of Johnston City; and four cousins, Darlynn Zanotti, Judith Zanotti, Lyndell Zanotti and wife Patti, and Marco Andresen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
