EVA MAE SMITH

Johnston City–Eva Mae Smith 83, of Johnston City passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 3:35 P.M. at the Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Saturday June 26, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Ed Krantz officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Eva was born on April 3, 1927 in Herrin, the daughter of Cairl "Jake" and Edna (McPheron) Smith.

She had worked at Smoler's Dress Factory in Herrin and was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

She is survived by one son Richard Rorer and wife Evelyn of Johnston City; one daughter, Helen Harmon and husband Terry of Pittsburg; five grandchildren, Sherri Rorer and husband Gary Lauderdale of Johnston City, Brian Rorer of Johnston City, Brad Rorer and wife Angie of Johnston City, Kevin Smith and wife April of Marion, and Marc Smith of Pittsburg; seven great grandchildren, Kara Lee Smith, Teryn Rorer, Taylor Rorer, Dustin Rorer, Brett Rorer, Hunter Paul Rorer, and Ashton Rorer; and one sister, Reatha Steinmetz of Johnston City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Johnny Paul Rorer; and one brother, Cairl Smith.
