EVAN LEE SWAIN

Johnston City–Evan Lee Swain 101, of Johnston City passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013 at his family home with his daughter and care givers by his side.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday August 28, 2013, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Evan was born on April 1, 1912, in Marion, the son of Frank and Flossie (Lee) Swain. He married Mildred J. "Mickey" (Erhardt) on July 5, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, MO. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1996.

Evan worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Judith Lea King of Edgewater, MD; two grandsons, Curtis Lee King and wife Sherrie of Salisbury, MD and Cameron Lee King and wife Gina of Edgewater, MD; six great grandchildren, Curtis, Casey, Cameron, and Stephanie King, and Christopher and Cara Eisel .

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Billy Lee Swain.
