EVELYN MEARIE WRIGHT

Johnston City-Evelyn Marie Wright, 77, of Johnston City passed away of natural causes at 10:13 P.M. on Saturday March 23, 2013 at Parkway Manor in Marion.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 27, 2013 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will be in the Jerusalem Cemetery in Pomona. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born on September 11, 1935 in Pomona the daughter of Ardell "Doc" and Daisy (Cripps) Hagler. She was married to Lindell Everett Wright on August 10th, 1952.

Evelyn was a retired candy maker working for Switzers Licorice Inc.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Pamela Spiess of Johnston City and Coletta Wright of St. Louis, MO; 1 granddaughter, Emily Spiess and boyfriend Robert Mead of Johnston City; 1 great grandson, Kameron Smith of Johnston City; and 2 sisters, Mary Ellis and husband Leonard of O'Fallon and Alice Arnold and husband Alan of O'Fallon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Kathern Wright; a grandson, John Michael Spiess; 4 sisters, Ada Jackson and husband Jack, Leola Ellis and husband Tom, Eulamae Ellis and husband James, and Georgia Burris and husband Donald.
