EVERETT BLADES

Marion-Everett Blades 84 passed away at 2:58 A.M. Monday November 20, 2023 at the Baptist Health Care in Paducah, KY.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday November 24, 2023, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Keith Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Everett was born October 7, 1939 in Williamson County the son of Lewis Thomas and Minerva Evelyn (Lappin) Blades. He married Betty Jean (Emerson) on August 27, 1960. Together they shared 63 years of marriage.

Everett worked at the Palace Theater and Stotlar-Herrin Lumber yard in Johnston City. After that he worked for General Telephone and Verizon for 42 years before retiring in 2002.

He loved to work on old cars and tinker in the garage.

He is survived by his wife of Marion; one son, Billy Blades and wife Nichole of Johnston City; one grandson, Alec Blades of Johnston City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Leroy Blades, Robert Blades, Paul Blades and Gene Blades; and 2 sisters, Helen Summers and Betty King.
