EVELYN MARIE HOPKINS

Johnston City–Evelyn Marie Hopkins 87, of Johnston City, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 4:15 A.M. at her family home.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday October 9, 2009, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Ted A. Hartley officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born on February 27, 1922 in Marion, the daughter of John Wesley and Grace Ann (Malone) Manier. She married Robert "Hoppy" Woodrow Hopkins on November 12, 1942 in Marion. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1989.

Evelyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Johnston City.

She is survived by one son, Robert E. Hopkins and wife Sue of Winterville, NC; one daughter, Anita L. Studer and husband Glenn of Christopher; three grandchildren, James B. Studer and wife Tena, Timothy W. Studer, and Patti Fiore and husband Billy; eight great grandchildren, Dianna J. Studer, Katie E. Monari, Austyn T. Studer, Adysen G. Studer, Arynn P. Studer, Kaitlyn Ochelli, Charlie Ochelli, and Max Fiore; two great-great grandchildren, Gabrielle Snyder and Zoey Monari; and a special cousin Mary Jean Thornton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Ellis Manier.
