FLORENCE (VENABLE) WYATT HUDSON
Johnston City–Florence (Venable) Wyatt Hudson 91, formerly of Johnston City passed away at 2:48 P.M. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Baptist Health in Paducah Kentucky.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday September 6, 2013, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Bruce Howell (nephew) officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery of Marion. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Florence was born October 27, 1921 in Karnak, the daughter of John and Mae Venable. Florence married Lemuel Donovan (L.D.) Wyatt who preceded her in death.
Florence worked at the Johnston City Water Department for many years. She also worked at the Holiday Inn in Marion as a night auditor where she met and married her second husband, Harold Hudson who preceded her in death. Florence had a very active life traveling with her second husband and as a tour guide. She enjoyed painting and writing poetry. Some of her poems have been published.
She was a life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member.
She is survived by a son, Don (Elaine) Wyatt of Apache Junction, AZ; two grandchildren, Brian (Candace) Wyatt of Queen Valley, AZ, Kelly Morren of Phoenix, AZ; two great grandchildren, Lyle and Heather Wyatt of Queen Valley, AZ; sisters-in-law, Dolores Venable of Downers Grove, Mildred Hudson of Beech Grove, IN and Jean Wyatt of Herrin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill Venable; and grandson, Ron Wyatt
