GARY WAYNE CULPEPPER SR.

Belle Rive–Gary Wayne Culpepper Sr. passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 1:14 P.M. at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday September 27, 2017, at the Spillertown Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Shea officiating. . Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

Gary was born on August 26, 1952 in West Frankfort, the son of Roy and Louise (Shelton) Culpepper. He married Arlowyne (Hubbell) in Las Vegas, NV in January 26, 2001.

Gary was an electrical engineer at Continental Tire and at the Prairie State Generating Company. He was a member of the Spillertown Baptist Church and also a member of Sugar Camp Church of Belle Rive.

He is survived by his wife, Arlowyne Culpepper; one son, Gary Wayne Culpepper Jr.; one daughter, Jessica Culpepper; one step-son, John Cook and wife Amber; one step-daughter, Carlye Lill and husband Scott; seven grandchildren; one brother, Gene Culpepper; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
