GENE "FIG" MCREYNOLDS

Johnston City–Gene "Fig" McReynolds, 65 of Johnston City passed away at 9:44 A.M. on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his family home.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday September 27, 2013, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Fig was born on August 23, 1948, in Johnston City, the son of James and Pauline (Roll) McReynolds. He married Lori E. (Haynes) in April of 1991 in Paducah, KY. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2003.

Fig was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War proudly serving in the army. He was a life member of the V.F.W of Marion and of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City.

He is survived by two sons, Brian McReynolds and wife Renee of Hoover, AL, and Cliff McReynolds of Marion; two daughters, Ashley Nicole Elder of Johnston City and Katie Loren McReynolds of Johnston City; two grandchildren, Shilah and Tanner; brothers and sisters, Joyce Collins and husband Jim of Johnston City, June Kunkel of Johnston City, Harlen McReynolds and wife Carla of Pensacola, FL, Kenneth McReynolds and wife Arti of Johnston City, Shiela Lawrence of Johnston City, Jimmy McReynolds and wife Jean of Johnston City, and Paula Dell Stucker and husband Daryl of Herrin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ada Minter; and a brother, Charles McReynolds.
