GEORGE B. KEE

Johnston City- George B. Kee, 71, of Johnston City went home to be with his Heavenly Father and God on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday January 2, 2015, at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
George was born on August 3, 1943 in West Frankfort the son of Orville Eugene and Imogene (Porter) Kee. He married Judy (Talluto) on August 22, 1964 in Marion. She survives.
He was a professional musician and played in various bands in Southern Illinois. He loved to share his gift of music with people. He was a co-founder of Special Mine Services of West Frankfort. He was a member of the Buccaneers Club of Johnston City and the Oleo Quail Club of Pittsburg. He was a gifted athlete in high school sports at Johnston City.
He is also survived by three sons, Brett Kee and wife Debbie of Johnston City, Brian Kee and wife Jodi of Johnston City, and Blake Kee and wife Kristi in Johnston City; grandchildren, Isaac Kee, Alia Johnson and husband Colton, Taeler Kee and Zander Kee; a great grandson, Corvin Johnson; brothers and sisters, Arnette Whitlock and husband Gene of Godfrey, Vernon Kee and wife Maureen of Johnston City, Opal Avery and husband Jack of Johnston City, Barbara Vatovec and husband Tony of Johnston City, and Jerry Kee and wife Gayle of Marion; and his dog, Willie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Vera Kee Bishop.
